The Cruise 6.0 is not completely silent unlike the Travel 1103. The gearbox produces a slight whistling sound. Nevertheless, the motor is significantly quieter than combustion engines.

Range of the Torqeedo Cruise 6.0 DP on the sailboat
Driving time and range depend on the boat and the battery. In an example with the Cruise 6.0 and the Power 48-5000 battery, we have the following measured values for sailboats up to 3 tons:
- Under full load, the electric motor lasts about 50 minutes. The speed in this case is around 11 km/h (6 knots). Within the short time, a range of 10 kilometers (7 nautical miles) could be covered.
- If you plan longer and more comfortable tours on the water, you can even go much further with less power. At 1 kW (1/6 of the power), a speed of 5 km/h (2.7 knots) was achieved for 8 hours. In total, a range of 50 km (27 nautical miles) with just one battery charge.
Cruise 6.0 DP - Information on the range of the rotating pod motor
For operation, a supply of at least one lithium battery (Power 48/5000) or lead-acid batteries (lead-gel or AGM) must be provided. The Power 48/5000 has 44.4 V, 5000 Wh and a weight of 37 kg. Others can also be connected in parallel.
In displacement mode, the required power increases exponentially. If you want to double your speed, you need eight times the power. At the same time, you can greatly increase the range of your trip by reducing the speed slightly.
The charger for Cruise 6.0 DP underwater motor
The suitable charger Power 48-5000 has a charging current of 13 A and is waterproof according to IP 65. The charger charges the Power 48-5000 to 100% in max. 10 hours. In addition, up to three chargers can be connected simultaneously.
