The Cruise 3.0 is not completely silent unlike the Travel 1103. The gearbox produces a slight whistling sound. Nevertheless, the motor is significantly quieter than combustion engines.

Range of the Cruise 3.0 underfloor motor for sailboats
Driving time and range depend on the boat and the battery. In an example with the Cruise 2.0 and the Power 24-3500 battery, we have the following measured values for sailboats up to 1.5 tons:
- At full load, the electric motor lasts about 1:15 hours. The speed in this case is around 12 km/h (6.5 knots). Within the short time, a range of 14 kilometers (7.5 nautical miles) could be covered.
- If you plan longer and more comfortable tours on the water, you can even go much further with less power. At 1/4 of the power, a speed of 5 km/h (2.7 knots) was achieved for 8 hours. In total, this is a range of 40 km (21 nautical miles). And all with just one battery charge.
Range of the Torqeedo Cruise 3.0 DP pod motor (rotatable)
For operation, a supply of at least one lithium battery (Power 26-104) or lead-acid batteries (lead-gel or AGM) must be provided. The Power 24/3500 has 26 V, 2,500 Wh and a weight of 25 kg. Additional batteries can also be connected in parallel to increase the range of the Torqeedo Cruise 2.0 FP pod motor.
In displacement mode, the required power increases exponentially. If you want to double your speed, you need eight times the power. At the same time, you can greatly increase the range of your trip by reducing the speed slightly.
The charger for the Cruise 3.0 pod motor
The suitable charger Power 24-3500 has a charging current of 10 A and is waterproof according to IP 65. The charger charges the Power 24-3500 to 100% in max. 14 hours and the Power 26-104 to 100% in max. 11 hours.
Alternatively, a fast charger only takes about two hours, but is not as gentle on the longevity of the batteries.
