Range of the Torqeedo Cruise 12 kW pod drive
Travel time and range of the Torqeedo Cruise 12.0 FP Podmotor depend on the boat and the battery. In an example with the Cruise 12.0 and 2x of the Power 48-5000 battery we have the following readings for motorboats and sailing boats up to 6 tons:
- If you plan longer and more comfortable tours on the water, you will even get a lot further with less power. At 1/4 of the power, a speed of 7.8 km/h was reached for 6 hours (4.2 knots). All in all a range of 60 km (32 nautical miles). And that with only one battery charge.
Cruise 12.0 - Info about the range
For operation, a supply of at least one lithium battery (Power 48/5000) or lead batteries (lead gel or AGM) must be provided. The Power 48/5000 has 44.4 V, 5000 Wh and a weight of 74 kg. Others can also be connected in parallel.
In displacement mode, the required power increases exponentially. If you want to double your speed, you need eight times the power. At the same time, you can increase the range enormously during your excursion if you reduce the speed a little.
The charger for Cruise 12.0 FP
The matching charger Power 48-5000 has a charging current of 13 A and is waterproof according to IP 65. The charger charges the Power 48-5000 from 0 to 100% in max. 10 hours. In addition, up to three chargers can be connected simultaneously.

Torqeedo is German manufacturer and market leader in the field of electric boat drives. The idea for Torqeedo was born on Lake Starnberg due to bans on combustion engines. Boat motors with electric drives, on the other hand, can be used without any worries.
