Range information
Travel time and range depend on the boat and the battery. In an example with the Cruise 10.0 and 2x the Power 48-5000 battery, we have the following readings for powerboats and sailboats up to 10 tons:
- Under full load the electric motor lasts approximately 1 hour. The speed in the case is about 26.5 km/h (14 knots). Within the short time, a range of 26.5 kilometers could thus be covered. (14 nautical miles).
- If you are planning longer and more leisurely trips on the water, you can actually get much further with less power. At 1/4 power, a speed of 7.8 km/h (4.2 knots) was achieved for 6 hours. So a total range of 60 km (32 nautical miles). And that with only one battery charge.

At Torqeedo, particular emphasis is placed on easy handling and safety. Electric mobility on the water is also ideally suited for beginners in boating. The manufacturer Torqeedo covers from the Ultralight 403 for kayaks up to 140 hp motors for yachts, pod motors for sailboats or hybrid systems.

Torqeedo was founded in 2005 and has been part of Deutz AG, a manufacturer of electric motor machinery, since 2017. The company, based in Gilching near Munich, sells Torqeedo products internationally and has a large service network. Torqeedo, by the way, is made up of the English words torque (torque) and speed (speed).
